Batman Begins & P90X Plyometrics; Phx Artist & Coach Deborah Peters

Intro: Doing P90X Plyometrics one night while watching my dark knight, resurfaced fond memories of an old friend I rendered once as Batman’s Nemesis: The Joker.

P90X and Batman. Unlikely combination, at least at my house, lol. But it happened. About 7:30pm after I’d put in a long day painting…still in creative mode. Which usually involves movies…this week it was Batman Begins. I love these new batman movies of the Batman comics; Dark Knight;  Gotham is supposed to be DARK. So, I was really into it, love the Bale Batman – but still needed to work out?! No way was I gonna skip.

So, for the first time, I popped in my P90X Plyometrics dvd and set it to: Cues, silent. I know the routine now by heart, and I could get a great workout via my laptop and not stop my movie. That’s a first! And for those of you who love the Gym, the P90X App is soon to release so then you’ll be able to take this workout anywhere as well. So, this night was fun, as fun as workouts go, when you’re alone, and the spouse is out of town. I wouldn’t do this for a new film to view but a favorite I’d seen several times – yep! And tonight brought back some fond memories. Here is the story around the art featured, this is how much I am a fan. Batman and the Joker. Favorite Hero and Favorite Villian. This art is a piece I created over a decade ago while working at Fox Animation Studios. One night off hours, my friend Jeff in Editorial let myself and model, Matt have a photo shoot. This was “the shot” that became the art though it pains me I no longer have the original photo. If you can imagine, what you see here is the combo of Matt and the Joker in watercolor.

Here’s Matt and an example illustration, joker pictures. Fun, exciting, I love creativity! I always could see the Joker in him, something in his features. That is meant as a compliment. Last below here is the original watercolor version. With that, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite scenes from the film: Click here. And due to those abusing the comment section with spam, I’d sure appreciate it if you “share”. Have a great night, see ya next time!
