Non GMO Flour & Desserts

Happy Holidays!

I hope wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, this season gives you peace and time to reflect on the things most dearest to you!

This past weekend I had the chance to discover something HUGE! Over a year now I’ve been gluten free and sharing gluten free dining and gluten free baking options on the site. After hearing some news regarding Non GMO flours, how oftentimes people have discovered they can have gluten – if it’s not the genetically modified version found in most all purpose flours!?

So, over here, there could be no better time than to test that theory out during our annual family baking party! We used King Arthur flour. I’m so happy to share after indulging in homemade sugar cookies, candy cane cookies and even coconut macaroons – no reactions at all. If you’ve noticed an intolerance to gluten the passed 15 years or so – this could work for you too. This is when they began “toying” with flours on the market.

So far, these foods will have to be limited to homemade treats – unless you know of any restaurants and bakeries using non GMO flour – if you do, let me know!

In closing, have a wonderful holiday, enjoy the holiday recipes on the site, more to come! I have also added a body of art available in prints, be sure to check them out!
Warmest,
Deborah

I couldn’t find anything on their website that says their flour is GMO-free?  Can you point me in the right direction?

I just read on the King Arthur website that they are GMO free and then I read your article. I am going to see if this allows me to enjoy wheat again without all the fatigue and brain fog I usually experience with wheat products. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

You’re very welcome, I find the flour wonderful, and just replaced it everywhere I’d normally use all-purpose flour :)
