Family. Smile.

Caught this family on a hike, the Mom & daughter with matching hats! They ran to catch up to the rest of the family and then I noted they all had matching hats! Lol!

If there’s one thing that takes an ordinary hike and makes it a little “extra” – this is it. It is said “The best things in life are Free..” – isn’t that truth? These are the times where one can just “be and enjoy”…The kids believe they’re off on an adventure (and they are) while Mom & Dad are making memories they reflect back on. Memories void of tv, computer games and all other “things” that seem to pull us away from socializing with one another. These walks are the ones where children can share their ambitions or discover some wildlife while out and about. And if all else fails – one can always whack their brother with a stick for entertainment – just kidding!

Family to me means those pulling for you. Those you don’t want to disappoint. Those you love to share news with….those who “see” you.

Not only “see” you but wish to do nice things for you. They rejoice in your accomplishments and feel the sorrow of your losses. Nothing is sweeter than a home-made birthday cake or new “labor of love” chili or crock pot recipe. Homemade bread – who really appreciates those things other than family? Friends that are family? That fits. Some family we find in life are just that by definition; they’re not family by blood but their devotion to you isn’t unlike that of a sister, brother or parent. These family members make this journey in life just a bit sweeter. Today’s smiley post goes to family. How about you? What are your fondest thoughts on Family?
