Entrepreneurs.

The longer I observe some entrepreneurs, the more I see some BIG problems.

The problem is seeing the forest through the trees. These entrepreneurs are too close and so desperate to build cash flow, they just go out and tell people what they want, what to buy, etc. Lately I’ve seen a lot of entrepreneurs ans small business people on Twitter and Facebook with status updates simply demanding people to go do what they want.

RUDE.

Maybe that way worked old school, not sure. I don’t understand how it’s ever worked! Pretty sure we won’t find it on Entrepreneur Magazine. Or Small Business Inc. Entrepreneurs 101. Seems to me referrals and word of mouth have always been warm and have longevity. I don’t like an entrepreneur telling me what to do for their benefit. I appreciate being served, with my needs being met – those that do that, have my attention. It doesn’t matter what these entrepreneurs are selling, the fact that they take an interest in my needs – makes them more attractive. Makes me want to listen to what they have to say. Makes me take a look at whatever it is this entrepreneur is promoting. The only cost in that is some effort; genuine effort and using both ears to listen. We were given 1 mouth and two ears for a reason, right? We all want to be heard, right? No matter what’s going on, we all have a desire to be heard and wish ability to trust. So how do we get that? We invest in our foundation & learn the proper way to connect with people.

But who can trust a Shyster?

Yes, these small business owners and entrepreneurs are shysters.

I open my inbox now and somehow have been automated for “lists” I guess from all the accessibility entrepreneurs have to me – in my efforts to be visible in general on the net as a business owner myself. Nothing is more of a turn off getting a notice from some yahoo who doesn’t know me – promoting their product. The simple fact that they showed no interest in me at all – except how I could benefit them – is a FOREVER FLAG never to support them.

How many businesses and entrepreneurs out there realize they are doing this to their potential customers and clients? Ya know, I’ve even shared it with a few entrepreneurs, and they’re so taken aback – and even worse, not only do they not understand – they claim what they’re doing is working. WOW. The moment we entrepreneurs cannot take constructive criticism from others who truly are serving our best interest – is the day we should realize the whole “people business” entrepreneurship is not our strong suit! This very element should be at the TOP LIST of the TOP PRIORITIES for every small business. Let’s face it, your business is valuable so treat it that way. Don’t get in the rut of “never having enough time”; because we always have time to do it right. Yes, that is completely the wrong way to go about building lasting success.  I see more and more examples of the type of “selling” that you posted above and it saddens me to think that that’s how it’s being taught.  They’ll quickly burn out with that Me First attitude.

So nice to see your Mug and comment Clifton! Sad, isn’t it? you’d think they’d see what they’re doing….this gal above has been involved for 5 years supposedly too…years of damage and too stubborn to shift her approach..
