Information Overload | Goal Setting | Small Business
Information overload. Adding a small business in is challenging. Adding an internet-based small business seems like perpetual chaos. It certainly can be. The desire to have all the tools in place as one pursues their passion is addictive and never ending. Information, smart goal setting, achieve success. Repeat.
What to make of all of it? I found a great post detailing this further, check it out too:
Information Overload
I like this post because it cuts through all the garbage. As with all things, it comes down to goal setting, prioritizing, engage in the highest and best possible use of your time, and finally – DO It. Yes, we can help ourselves tremendously by utilizing the Nike slogan in our lives. Information is necessary; the problem is when we don’t moderate it – it can be consuming and suddenly that urge to procrastinate takes over. What started out as a great day to be productive, ended up in not taking action but instead leaving your head swelling with new information you thought you just had to have. I also see this with creating art, noodling over unnecessary details wasting time while not improving a thing!
All the smart goals in the world are meaningless without action. New Year’s resolutions will lend themselves to 2012 disappointments. Be aware of what triggers your personal “inaction” and decide now to change it. All one needs to accomplish their goals is to streamline their process, that’s it.
1. Set Goals
2. Prioritize
3. Extract the essential details
4. Take action
Adopting a healthy lifestyle mirrors personal goals as well; they truly go hand in hand, it’s the same process. Contact me if you’d wish some support in this area, I coach people! Happy New Year, may this be your Best year yet.
