Tranquil Waters | Water Lilies | Oil Painting | Deborah Peters

water lilies oil painting Water Lilies – Tranquil Waters.

Water Lilies.

Water Lilies that are Monet inspired. This painting was a fun art project – just let loose and break away from the constraints that any portrait will put one through! It took me back to my first painting class, where going back to your foundation of painting and using your tools comes first – instead of the subject. With botanical art, and water lilies – one has more freedoms and liberty with the rendering – just not as many rules apply in general!

As a colorist, these colors with the water lilies immediately caught my eye and the change in hues, being able to play with rich blues, greens, soft ivory and pinks.

Tranquil Waters came to be exactly that; painting this beautiful calming scene took over the experience itself – and invites the viewer to enjoy that state as well. This original is 10″ by 10″ – I can only imagine how Monet felt painting his over sized works of water lilies. Because Tranquil Waters and water lilies in general are so loved, I made sure to have many options for it’s admirers! Not only is the Original available (contact me for pricing) – there are also many unique gift items of it as well, just check them out here at my online store, Water Lily at Cafepress

Happy Painting or admiring my friends- till next time! Have a wonderful weekend, I’d love your thoughts and comments below!

This such a peaceful painting.  Makes you want to sit down and have lunch on the bank.  And oh how I love lunch.

Honey could you not refer everything to food?

I see Ben below thinking about lunch with this exquisite masterpiece.  I love this painting it is one of my favorites!  I am thinking far beyond lunch…I’m thinking a fine dining experience on the River Seine.

I love the peace of the blues and greens with that little splash of pink to draw the eye.

TY Clifton, cool how that one pop of color makes the difference, huh? Nature has such a unique way of pulling colors together
