I love it & we still use it for bedtime stories (my son is 3). I would say I’d have preferred a non rocking footstool,& have never used the recline on the chair,but all told I would highly recommend. I’m glad you’re looking into doing a club chair makeover…I’m a big fan of re-purposing vintage furniture which is almost always of a better quality than you’re likely to find made today. Reasonably Priced: You can get the Status Roma chair as a glider rocker for the nursery at a reasonable price (check price here) and is pretty cheap glider for the benefit you obtain. A great way to incorporate your old glider into your normal living room decor and give that chair second life!
Note that you need not execute all of them, nor in the order given; although for the longest-lasting and best overall quality of the maintenance, doing everything below is the most effective way to keep your gliders rocking smoothly for decades to come. With the two pieces of fabric pattern to pattern (if they’d been sewed together already, the cover would be inside out), I tacked all the way around the edges.
Today, we read books and do bedtime routine in it. It is soft, comfy, the rocking is great, the footstool (i got the medela wood one) really does make nursing more ergonomic, and I haven’t regretted the purchase for a second. So far we have designated his room for sleeping and diaper changing, keeping it a calm room, playing happens elsewhere and that chair does knock him out when he’s cranky. I bought a glider and ottoman (which I wanted, instead of a recline option) at a local furniture store.
I’m thinking of putting it in one of the corners against our new paneled wall , which will be painted white, so the darkness of the chair won’t be so bad. State between Thanksgiving and Christmas because we were home in NC and I used my mom’s glider and just thought it moved so well and smoothly…and blah, blah, blah. Out of all the furniture pieces that will fill the nursery, a glider chair has the most potential for lifelong use.
